Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science holds its 10th convocation
Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science held its tenth convocation on its Bay Range campus here.

A total of 1,534 graduates were awarded their degrees, including 30 Ph D scholars and 58 award winners.
The chief guest for the occasion was executive chairman VK Mathews, IBS GroupThiruvananthapuram, who handed over the awards and presented the convocation address.
The ceremony began with an invocation followed by the convocation being declared open by the chancellor, Elizabeth Verghese.
This was followed by the welcome address and report presented by the vice chancellorK P Isaac.
Presenting the convocation report, the vice chancellor said, “There has been a marked improvement and significant increase in all the domains of academics which has been possible because of the commitment of our faculty, staff and students alike and able guidance and encouragement bythe management.”
It was a meritorious moment for the Institute as nearly 1,534 graduates were awardedtheir degrees.
This is inclusive of 30 research scholars, 217 post graduates and 1,287 under graduates.
The chancellor Elizabeth Verghese stressed on the importance of entrepreneurship and contribution for the economic growth of the nation. She suggested that the graduates should develop emotional strength to face the challenges of life and insisted that they should work for the welfare of the mother nation.
The guests of honour were MD Bala K Bharadvaj Boeing India Engineering and Technology Center, Bengaluru & president SAE India; Corporate vice president and chief information officer Tony Thomas Global IS/IT, Nissan Motor CompanyLimited, Japan.
