Passengers have to board long distance trains from Chengalpattu today
The proposed third line work between Tambaram and Chengalpattu would affect passengers, especially those travelling on express trains like Vaigai, Kacheguda and Circar expresses, who will have to board the train from Chengalpattu on Sunday. The work will beundertaken between 9.30 am to 4.30 pm.
Chennai
Madurai - Chennai Egmore Vaigai Express (Train no 12636) leaving Madurai at 7 am will run only up to Chengalpattu. Chennai Egmore - Madurai Vaigai Express (Train no 12635) leaving Chennai Egmore at 1.40 pm will be partially cancelled between Chennai Egmore and Chengalpattu, and will start from Chengalpattu at 2.40 pm.
Chengalpattu - Kacheguda Express (Train no 17651) leaving Chengalpattu at 3.20 pm will be partially cancelled between Chengalpattu and Tambaram. The train will leave from Tambaram at 3.50 pm.
Chengalpattu - Kakinada Circar Express (Train no 17643) leaving Chengalpattu at 4 pm has been partially cancelled between Chengalpattu and Tambaram. The train will leave Tambaram at 4.30 pm.
Melmaruvathur - Villupuram - Melmaruvathur mainline electrical multiple unit (MEMU) on Sunday will be fully cancelled. Melmaruvathur - Chennai Beach MEMU leaving Melmaruvathur at 3.30 pm will be partially cancelled between Melmaruvathur and Tambaram. The train will run only between Tambaram and Chennai Beach, a statement issued by Southern Railway (SR) said.
Several EMU services between Beach and Chengalpattu would also be regulated/rescheduled from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm owing to engineering works permitted in Singaperumalkoil between Tambaram and Chengalpattu sections on Sunday.
Chennai Beach – Chengalpattu EMU local leaving Chennai beach at 9 am, 9:19 am, 9:30 am and 10:20 am on Sunday will be regulated/delayed enroute for about 20 minutes.
Chengalpattu- Chennai Beach EMUs leaving Chengalpattu at 9:40 am, 10.55 am and 11.30 am, Kancheepuram- Chennai Beach EMUs leaving Kancheepuram at 9:15 am and Tirumalpur- Chennai Beach EMU leaving Chengalpattu at 10:40 am on Sunday will be regulated/delayed enroute for about 20 minutes, another statement issued by SR said.
