Two held for snatching phone in Koyambedu

He boarded a bus to go to his hometown on Friday night. Two men who boarded the bus sat beside him and struck up a conversation. When the bus was about to start, the men snatched Manikandan’s mobile phone and escaped.

Based on complaint, the CMBT police launched a hunt for the accused. The police took the victim on the patrol vehicle to identify the accused and secured them within minutes. The accused were identified as Khaja Moideen (23) and Babu (32) of Salem. The phone was recovered from the duo, who was remanded in judicial custody.

Meanwhile, the Poonamallee police arrested a chain snatcher four days after he relieved a woman of four sovereigns. A hunt has also been launched for his accomplice. A two-wheeler was seized from one G Rajesh (20) of Poonamallee, before he was remanded. On October 1, the victim was on the way to her relative’s house when the bike-borne duo snatched her chain.
