Four held for peddling ganja to students in Perungalathur
Four persons who were selling ganja to school and college students in Perungalathur were arrested by the police on Friday.

The arrested persons were identified as Maya (40) of Peerkankaranai, Muthu Kumar (28) of Guduvanchery, and Dinesh (24) and Gokulakrishnan (24) from Perunagalthur, from whom 2.5 kg of ganja, four mobile phones and a car were seized.
Following a tip-off that ganja was being sold to the students near the railway station and a few other places in the locality, the police formed a special team and launched a hunt for the peddlers. On Friday, they found a few schools and college students approaching a car parked on Mugambigai Nagar 3rd street. Police surrounded the car and arrested Maya and Muthu Kumar selling ganja.
Based on the information they provided, police searched another house in the locality where Dinesh and Gokulakrishnan were found packing the ganja. During inquiry, police found the group smuggled ganja from Andhra Pradesh and supply it invarious places.
Police said Muthu Kumar has murder and attempt to murder cases pending against him at Guduvanchery station. Dinesh and Gokulakrishan also have few cases against them. All were arrested and remanded in judicial custody.
4.6 kg of ganja seizedfrom two in city
City police arrested ganja peddlers in two different places and seized 4.6 kg from them. Mangadu police arrested A Vinothkumar (25) of Mowlivakkam based on a tip-off and seized 2.5 kg ganja from his house in Friday night. Similarly, Nungambakkam police arrested K Vadivel (40) near Elliamman Koil Street on Friday and seized 2.1 kg ganja from him. The duo was remanded in judicial custody.
