Noted playback singer P Unnikrishnan and famous Veena player and music composer Rajesh Vaidhya came together to produce the ‘Vaishnav Jan To’ song, which was Gandhi’s favourite.
The six-minute song was shot in various places in Chennai, including Gandhi Mandapam in Guindy. The song also showcases the Gandhi statute and his pictures. A few female playback singers have also contributed to the song.
The video also shows a small boy running into a park with a white chart and paint to draw Gandhi’s picture and his spinning wheel. During the video launch, Commissioner of GST and Central Excise Bharat Asrsa said it was a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, who liked the song very much.
He said the video will be uploaded on YouTube and Prime Minister Office website. It will also be available in various other portals for public view.
