    Two men relieved of mobile phones in CMBT, Aminjikarai

    Two men lost their mobile phones to snatchers in in separate incidents. S Chaithanya (19) of Andhra Pradesh, pursuing BTech at a private university in Kelambakkam, was about to board an MTC bus at CMBT around 3.30 am on Monday when an unidentified person snatched a mobile phone worth Rs 30,000 from his trouser pocket and fled the spot.

    Based on his complaint, the CMBT police have launched a hunt for the suspect.

    In another incident, S Ravi of Mogappair West, was stepping out of Ampa Skywalk mall around 9.30 pm on Sunday when an unidentified man snatched the mobile phone from him and escaped. The Aminjikarai police have registered a case and further inquiry is on.

    Meanwhile, the CMBT police arrested a mobile phone thief and recovered four mobile phones and cash from him on Monday. The accused was identified as K Sasikumar (30) of Villupuram. 

    Passengers, who found him stealing the phones from people who were asleep, handed him over to CMBT police. He was remanded in judicial custody.
