VCK men refuse to pay at hotel, extort owner
Two VCK party functionaries, who allegedly attacked an eatery owner and demanded mamool when he asked them to pay for the dinner they had at his outlet in Kodambakkam, were arrested on Saturday night.

The accused, T Anandraj (38) of Kodambakkam and S Thangaraj (40) of Vadapalani, were remanded in judicial custody on Sunday. The victim, Hakir, who runs a fast food outlet on Rangarajapuram Main Road, lodged a complaint that the duo had dinner at his eatery around 10 pm and refused to pay for it.
“When confronted, they allegedly attacked him and asked him to give Rs 5,000 as mamool every week. They left the place, returned in an autorickshaw after a while and threaten him again. They allegedly received Rs 1,000 from him and asked him to pay Rs 1,000 every day for one week,” said police.
Based on his complaint, police registered a case and secured the duo with the help of the CCTV footage on Sunday and booked them under Sections 384, 387, 294(b) and 506(I) of the IPC.
