‘Sivanthi Aditanar memorial to be inaugurated soon’

“CM Edappadi K Palaniswami announced construction of memorial for Sivanthi Aditanar in Tiruchendur. Almost 90 per cent of the works are completed. After setting up the bronze statue of Aditanar, the memorial would be inaugurated,” said the Minister after paying tribute to Sivanthi Aditanar at his memorial in Poes Garden on the occasion of his 84th birth anniversary.

The Minister added that Aditanar was remembered by the people of southern districts for his benevolence and his deep involvement in spirituality. “Sivanthi Aditanar was a multifaceted personality, who also served as the president of Indian Olympic Association. I am happy to pay my tribute to him on his birth anniversary,” the Minister added.

Earlier, Fisheries Minister D Jayakumar also paid tribute to Dr Sivanthi Aditanar and praised him for his contribution to journalism. Tamil Maanila Congress leader GK Vasan, All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi leader R Sarath Kumar, senior BJP leader and former union minister Pon Radhakrishnan and other prominent politicians also paid their tribute during the day.
