Special grievance meeting on all weekends: CoP
Greater Chennai Police Commissioner AK Viswanathan, who inaugurated the special public grievance meeting at New Washermenpet on Saturday, said that such meetings would be held on all weekends to address the problems of the public.

"The joint commissioners of law and order and traffic wings will choose one of the police districts that fall under their jurisdiction and meet the public on every Saturday," Viswanathan said while speaking to the media after inaugurating the event. He also said that petitioners would be intimated about the action taken regarding their complaints within 15 days.
He also said that inspectors have been instructed to meet public twice a day to receive complaints. The special drive was aimed at resolving the grievances such as non-issuance of Community Service Register (CSR) and failure to register First Information Report (FIR) by police.
According to officials, 456 petitions were received in all four zones. The meetings were chaired by joint commissioners Kapil Kumar C Saratkar in north zone, B Vijayakumari in west zone, C Maheswari in south zone and R Sudhakar in east zone. City traffic police also held a special grievance meeting for Chennai North and South on Saturday.
