Class 10 boy riding two-wheeler run over by MTC bus
A 15-year-old boy was run over by an MTC bus in Royapuram when he went to fetch water on a bike on Saturday. The deceased, Vijay of Kalmandapam, son of Gopal, was a Class 10 student.

The accident happened around 8.30 am when Vijay was on his way to fetch drinking water from the pumping station. “When he tried to cross the Cemetery Road, an MTC bus (Route No: 6D plying between Tiruvanmiyur and Tollgate) hit his bike and ran over him,” said the police. Passers-by rushed him to Government Royapettah Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. On information, Royapuram traffic investigation police have registered a case and detained the driver, S Vasanthakumar (39) of Tiruvottiyur.
