Man seeking water flees with senior citizen’s chain from home
A retired railway employee was relieved of his five-sovereign chain by an unidentified man who entered his house on the pretext of seeking drinking water on Tuesday.

The victim, Wilson (65) of Lenin Nagar, was alone at the house when a man came to the door asking for drinking water. When Wilson went inside, the man followed him and snatched his five-sovereign chain. Though he raised an alarm, the accused managed to flee the spot. Based on his complaint, the Ambattur police are searching for the suspect.
Meanwhile, the Railway Police arrested two persons who robbed a man at knifepoint on Tuesday. The accused, Jeevanandam (31) and his aide Ajit, robbed N Mahesh of his mobile phone near Elephant Gate bridge. Based on his complaint, the police arrested the duo and remanded them in judicial custody. Further investigation revealed that the two were previously involved in similar robberies in railway stations and bus termini across the city.
The railway police also arrested two persons, Krishnaraj (24) of Acharapakkam and Shahjahan (23) of Mylapore, and seized four stolen mobile phones from them, on Monday.
