    Chennai

With the addition of KeraSoul brand of hair care, there has been no looking back for them.I caught up with Manisha at a recent event in the city to find out more about this.

Recently, they introduced cryo treatment for hair and scalp and frankly, it looks like they got someone from the Hollywood special effects department as there was an icy mist in the model's hair! Unless she was the real-life Elsa from Frozen this would make for the social media post attracting a lot of eyeballs. That might attract you on the surface but they claim to have a lot more benefits like cleansing your scalp buildup as a result of pollution and residue from bad water leading to itchiness, hair fall, etc. Cryo treatment claims to also strengthen the hair and provide healthy shiny hair. But do not try this at home with ice or icy cold water or any other option you think of, as it doesn’t have the same effect, warns celebrity stylist Savio John Pereira as he demonstrates the treatment. With his years of expertise, I’d listen to him. For those of you who have envied a Disney princesses’ mane, you can have the same with the special effects when you try this treatment. Whoever thought Chennai would be one of the first few places in the world where you could try cutting edge innovations in hair care well the day has finally arrived and I’m beyond thrilled.

    Payment issue dogs content creators
Brands and agencies seem to be giving content creators, YouTubers and bloggers in the city a run for their money quite literally. Whomever I have met in the last week seem to be lamenting about this. From hearing excuses like I’m in the hospital, I can't talk, to our CEO is travelling so he can't sign cheques; they have been coming up with bizarre reasons to not pay creators for the work they have done. Have they forgotten bank transfers, Google pay and other modern options? Some even go so far and blame brands saying we are yet to receive the payment so we can't pay you. With promised payment schedules of 60 days turning in to six months to a year, bloggers in the city are furious and finding it hard to make ends meet. Most of them don’t opt for this fulltime because of the same reason.
This is not just a Chennai problem but it's national too with popular blogger Sherry Shroff’s recent insta story prompting a social media rant from every known name in the social media world. Some of the more seasoned agency executives seem to be forwarding the calls and not picking up. But when they need a post, they hound the influencers at odd hours and even make a few hundred phone calls! So what does it take for bloggers, content creators and influencers to be taken seriously? Everyone who spoke to me wanted to remain anonymous for the fear of his or her work getting affected. I hope agencies and brands sit up and take notice or the influencers in the city might just unionise. This is a billion-dollar industry that’s only getting bigger and it's about time the bloggers were treated better. So the city’s bloggers might look glamorous and well-turned with an enviable lifestyle online but right now I think I’ll take my regular paycheques.
