Collector urges Ulemas to avail welfare benefits

In a press statement on Wednesday, Collector R Seethalakshmi said that the ulemas who have identity cards issued by the Ulemas and other Personnel Welfare Board are entitled to receive the cash benefits.

According to the statement, the district backward classes and minorities welfare office would provide up to Rs 1 lakh assistance for the family in case of deaths caused by accidents. The office would also give Rs 15,000 for natural deaths.

“Apart from this, the district backward classes and minorities welfare office also provides education aid, maternity aid and other medical aids. Ulemas can also receive an old-age pension of Rs 1,000 per month,” therelease added.
