OMR police booth burgled

Police sources said that the men who stole the electric appliances and furniture took the items in a load auto and escaped from the spot. The incident happened between 2 pm and 6 pm on Monday. The traffic cops who reached the booth around 6 pm noticed that all the ‘movable properties’ in the booth were missing.

After checking with the officers who were posted on duty in the afternoon, a complaint was lodged with the Taramani police. Confirming the incident, the police said that a team was browsing through the CCTV footage taken from the location to track the vehicle in which the stolen goods were taken away.

It is possible that the policemen posted at the booth forgot to lock it. The traffic booth where the theft happened is located near a busy junction. “We are hopeful of nabbing the suspects soon and we hope that CCTV footage in the locality would help to crack the case,” an official noted.
