Duo promises TNSCB houses, dupes 30 people
The city police have arrested a duo who cheated about 30 persons of Rs 15 lakh on the promise of getting them houses in apartments built by Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board (TNSCB).

The accused were identified as Lingapandian (60) of Mogappair and Muthukumar (40) of Kolapakkam.Â
Lingapandian, an autorickshaw driver, allegedly told his friends that Muthukumar got him a house in Slum Clearance Board building constructed at Semmanchery. Believing him, about 30 persons paid him up to Rs 60,000 each, but did not get the house as promised. Based on their complaint at JJ Nagar police station, the police investigated and remanded the accused in custody.Â
