Need international standard of legal education: Ex-CJI Misra
Former Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra on Tuesday stressed on the need to have a strong, experienced and an international standard of education system that takes into account the changing landscape not just in the country but across the globe. He said it during the launch of Chettinad Group’s first law school — Chettinad School of Law — in Chennai.

This is the sixth institute by CARE (Chettinad Academy of Research & Education) that is also set to offer students a global perspective on law with the support of a strong international faculty.
The institute was inaugurated by Misra, former Chief Justice of Sri Lanka Justice Mohan Peiris, Former Chief Justice of Nepal Justice Kalyan Shrestha and the trustee of CAREMAMR Muthiah.
Addressing the audience, Misra said, “Legal education in the country is quiet coveted and it is imperative to have a strong, experienced and an international standard of education system that takes into account the changing landscape not just in the country but across the globe. It is good to see that Chettinad School of Law has brought together a faculty which is sure to develop quality students who will become important stakeholders in shaping the society through legal provisions.”
During his address, Muthiah said, “We take immense pride in bringing quality education to Chennai with an ease in accessibility to international resource. Keeping in line with our motto, capability, character and commitment the institute will create the future stakeholders of the society through legal education. We have brought together the best-in-class international faculty who will ensure that global practices in legal education are inculcated as part of our innovative teaching methodology.”
