Central Teacher Eligibility Test to be held on December 18
The Central Board of Secondary Education on Friday announced that it will conduct the 13th edition of Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) on December 18. The test will be conducted in 20 languages, including Tamil, in 110 cities across the country.

Like last year, more than seven lakh aspirants in the country, including about 13,000 candidates in Tamil Nadu, is expected to appear for the eligibility test.
In accordance with the Right To Education (RTE) Act, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) laid down the minimum qualifications for a person to be appointed as a teacher for Classes 1 to 8.
A release from Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday said that the test on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on educational psychology of teaching and learning, relevant to the age groupof 11-14 years.
The test in Language-I will focus on proficiencies related to the medium of instruction. Similarly, the test in Mathematics, Science and Social Studies/Social Science will focus on concepts, problem-solving abilities and pedagogical understanding and applications of the subjects.
