Airport sources said 114 passengers were about to board a SpiceJet flight for Delhi at 8.45 pm. As there was no aero bridge facility for this flight, the passengers were brought to the aircraft in a pick-up bus of the airlines.
One of the passengers, Vivek Saxena (46) tripped and fell while alighting from the bus and sustained injuries on his hip. Airline staffers, who were present, admitted him to the airport hospital. After administering first aid, he was shifted to a private hospital near the airport for treatment.
The flight later left for Delhi at 9.10 pm with 113 passengers. Airport police are investigating the incident.
In another incident, Vennila (35) from Trisulam, who is working as a loader at the Air Asia airlines, suffered injuries after her hand was caught in a conveyor belt.
“On Monday morning Vennila was loading the baggage to scan them in the conveyor belt and her hand got stuck in the machine. After she raised alarm, the other workers turned off the machine and she was taken to the private hospital inside the airport,” said sources.
