After investigation, they handed it over to the owner, who said he had parked the vehicle near Porur market. The police are trying to identify who took the vehicle from there and brought it to Tambaram.Â
Residents noticed the scooter that was parked with the key from Saturday night. They thought someone who came to the hotel might have forgotten to take the key. However, noting that the vehicle remained there till Sunday afternoon, they informed the Tambaram police. When the police team went to spot and checked the scooter, they found there was cash kept inside storage under the seat. In all, there was Rs 70,000 in Rs 500 and Rs 200 denominations. They informed the control room and alerted all the police stations across the city.Â
Meanwhile, Devaraj from Porur had filed a complaint on Saturday saying that his two-wheeler parked near the market in Porur along with the key was stolen. He also said that he had kept Rs 70,000 inside the vehicle and the Porur police had issued a CSR. On Sunday night, the Porur police brought Devaraj to Tambaram and it was confirmed the vehicle belonged to him. The Tambaram police handed over the money and scooter to Porur police.Â
