Tangedco to hold energy conservation campaigns
To create awareness on energy conservation, Tangedco has asked its officials to conduct campaigns at schools across the State.
“Energy conservation is the need of the hour and the only cost-effective measure to bridge the gap between supply and demand. Creating awareness on conservation among consumers is the first and foremost step to achieve the goal of actual energy savings,” chief engineer of the demand side management wing of Tangedco said.
In the instructions to all the chief engineers of the distribution region and superintending engineers/electricity distribution circle, the chief engineer urged the officials to conduct the programme on energy conservation awareness to school students every month and furnish the report on or before the 5th of the following month.
As a promotional measure, Tangedco has been sending SMS to about 2.6 crore consumers with a slogan on energy conservation and the current consumption charges. Apart from the campaigns, seminars, talks and lectures on energy conservation to disseminate the knowledge and the latest technical know-how is being taken up for central government sectors, micro, small and medium enterprises, private companies, MNCs and higher educational institutions.
