Bizman robbed of Rs 1L by unidentified trio near Puzhal

They got into his car saying that he had hit a child and they had come to take him to the accident spot.

The victim, Krishnan (49) of Vanagaram, who runs an automobile manufacturing unit near Red Hills, was returning home in his car on Saturday night when he was intercepted by a bike-borne trio near a flyover in Puzhal. They told him that he hit a one-year-old child, who was playing on the road, and made him sit in the rear seat of the car to take him to the accident spot.

After two of them got into the car, one of them threatened Krishnan with a knife and demanded his valuables while the other suspect drove the car. Panicked, Krishnan agreed to part with Rs 1 lakh, and after receiving the money the duo got down from the car in Gummidipoondi and fled the spot.

Krishnan rushed to the Gummidipoondi police station to lodge a complaint, but he was sent to Puzhal police station. Based on his complaint, the Puzhal police registered a case and have launched a hunt for the unidentified trio. The police have collected the CCTV footage from the locality and are trying to identify the suspects, said sources.
