6 held for history-sheeter’s murder
A day after 27-year-old Suresh, a history-sheeter, was found murdered in New Washermanpet, police have arrested six men and remanded them in judicial custody on Tuesday.

The accused were identified Thamizhselvan (19), Ramesh (19), Nareshkumar (19), Kamal (19), Santhosh (19) and Premkumar (19). While Thamizhselvan was secured by Tondiarpet police on Monday when the gang returned from the murder spot, New Washermanpet secured five others based on his inputs.
Investigation revealed that the gang murdered Suresh as he kept troubling them for collecting mamool in the locality, apart from threatening them of informing police about their illegal activities.
After they hacked Suresh to death at MPT ground on Sunday night, the gang members returned to spot to ensure that Suresh was dead and also allegedly to take selfies with the Suresh’s body.
Meanwhile, three more suspects who were wanted in connection with another history-sheeter’s murder in Nekundram surrendered at Koyambedu police station on Monday night. The accused, identified as Vikki, Suresh and Karthik, were remanded in judicial custody. Dinesh and Akash were already arrested on Monday.
The deceased Ranjith was their friend and they killed him in a drunken brawl onSaturday night.
