38-year-old man arrested for taking away keys of small bus
A 38-year-old man, who intercepted an MTC small bus and escaped with its keys near Guindy, was arrested two days after the incident.

The accused, identified as Gowrishankar of Kurinji Nagar in Ramapuram, is pursuing law degree at a private college in Andhra Pradesh, said the police.
The incident took place on August 3. Gowrishankar intercepted the small bus using his car on Guindy-Porur Road at Manapakkam. He then got inside the bus, removed the keys from the vehicle and fled the spot.
After the bus crew lodged a complaint, the Valasaravakkam police went to the spot and moved the bus away from the road. Later, the police went through the CCTV footage collected from the locality and found the registration number of the car. Using that, they traced Gowrishankar to his house and secured him for interrogation.
Gowrishankar reportedly told that police that he was irked as the minibus stopped on the middle of the road to drop the passengers, due to which his car was stuck behind it for a long time. Infuriated, he intercepted the bus and escaped with its keys to teach the crew a lesson. The police arrested him and remanded him in judicial custody on Monday.

The Guindy police arrested two men for allegedly tearing a traffic policeman’s uniform during an argument on Monday.
Sub-inspector S Jayan, who was regulating the traffic near Halda bus stop in Guindy in the afternoon, noticed a gang of men shouting and hurling abuses against each other. He immediately asked them to leave the spot without creating nuisance.
An argument erupted between them and the men, who were drunk, dragged the sub-inspector by his uniform and tore it. After the SI alerted other police officers, the Guindy police rushed to the spot and secured two of them. Srinikesh (34) of Nanganallur and Rajakannapan (40) of Alapakkam were remanded in judicial custody and a hunt has been launched for the others.
