Five nabbed for robbing woman staffer at parlour
A five-member gang, who barged into a parlour and robbed a woman staffer at knifepoint at Chinthamani in Anna Nagar, were traced overnight and arrested by the TP Chathiram police.

The accused were identified C Rajesh (26), Rahul (21), Diwakaran (21), Jainulabdeen (21) and Harikrishnan of West Tambaram, from whom four sovereigns were seized.
The incident happened around 9 pm at a massage parlour at Chinthamani when the staffer, Karthika Rani (27), was about to close the parlour as the owner Jai was away. A four-member gang reached the parlour in an autorickshaw claiming to get massage, but Karthika Rani reportedly told them it was about time to close the shop for the day.
After ensuring that she was alone in the shop, the gang threatened her at knifepoint and robbed her four sovereign mangalsutra before fleeing the spot.
Karthika Rani immediately lodged a complaint at the TP Chathiram police station and inspector Shanthi and her team swung into action. They first combed the CCTV footage from the locality and found out the autorickshaw’s registration number.
With the help of that, the police traced its owner Harikrishnan. Based on his inputs, other suspects were nabbed in an overnight operation. The robbed chain was seized and returned to the victim, while all five were remanded in judicialcustody.
