Gang ransacks woman’s house over ‘curse’
Pulianthope police have arrested three persons, including a juvenile, for attacking a woman and ransacking her house.
Chennai
Police said that the assault was a fallout of an ongoing enmity between the victim and her neighbour Ilaya Ganesan.
Ilaya Ganesan reportedly opposed Rani running an eatery outside her house and both have already lodged a complaint against each other at Pulianthope police station. After police refused to permit Rani to run the eatery, she grew furious and cursed Ganesan’s family. Recently, his son fell sick and died. Ilaya Ganesan believed that it was because of Rani’s curse that he lost his son, and told his friends about this. They barged into her house and attacked Rani.
Two of the accused, David alias Raja and Jawahar, were remanded in judicial custody and the minor was sent to observation home. A hunt has been launched for the remaining seven suspects.
