Three buses gutted at Koyambedu

The fire officer said that they received an information at around 4.30 pm that a bus was on fire at the parking lot. However, even before the fire service vehicles from Koyambedu and Vadapalani could reach the spot, fire had spread to two other buses parked nearby. The buses belonged to Joy Travels and Thirumagal Travels, said police. A police officer said that the drivers were taking a nap inside the bus when the fire started. They ran out of the bus after smoke engulfed the bus and alerted the fire station. CMBT police have registered a case and further investigation is on to find out the cause of the accident.
