3 booked for encouraging tourism in Pulicat
The Tiruvallur police on Sunday booked three persons for allegedly entertaining tourism related activities in the Pulicat area, where tourism has been banned following several boat mishaps. Based on a tip off to the office of the Tiruvallur Collector R Maheshwari, a surprise inspection was held on Sunday.

The Tiruvallur police on Sunday booked three persons for allegedly entertaining tourism related activities in the Pulicat area, where tourism has been banned following several boat mishaps. Based on a tip off to the office of the Tiruvallur Collector R Maheshwari, a surprise inspection was held on Sunday. The team headed by the Revenue Department officer Nandhakumar, tahsiladar Edward Wilson and deputy tahsildar Selva Kumar inspected the place and found that the illegal tourism continued to take place. After a complaint was lodged by the local Village Administrative Officer, three persons identified as Senthil (40), Sikander (35) and Illayaraja were identified as the culprits who took passengers on a ferry in Pulicat. The Tirupalaivanam police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the culprits.
