In a complaint to the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Arappor Iyakkam said that the Minister has misused his powers to handover a building belonging to the Coimbatore Corporation to his own trust, causing pecuniary and other losses to the government exchequer in an act of conflict of interest, favouritism and corruption.

Jayaram Venkatesan, Convener of Arappor Iyakkam, said that the sanitary inspector ward office located was vacated three years ago citing need to reconstruct the old building.

“The entire building was handed over to Amma IAS Academy which was inaugurated by the Minister on February 3 this year,” he said, adding that the IAS academy is not a government-run academy but run by Nallaram Trust whose founders are the Minister and his brother Anbarasan. He said that the sanitary inspector office which was shifted to a metal sheet shed at the Coimbatore West Zone office continues to function from there even after the construction of the new building.
