Three women, who were secured for allegedly detaining a minor girl and forcing her to become a sex worker, were arrested and remanded in judicial custody on Thursday.
The Pulianthope all-women police have launched a hunt for themen, who raped her when she was confined in a room.
The accused were identified as Jabina (33), Mubina Begum (38) and Nissa (32) of Pulianthope. The investigation officer said that they were booked under Section 370A (exploitation of a trafficked person) of the IPC, Sections 3 (punishment for keeping a brothel), 4 (punishment for living on the earnings of prostitution), 5 (taking a person for the sake of prostitution) and 7 (prostitution in the vicinity of public places) of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and Sections 6 and 17 of the Pocso Act.
The victim resided with her grandmother in Pulianthope while her mother lived alone. “The girl left her grandmother’s house after a quarrel and stayed with her relative’s friend Jabina in Vyasarpadi. The next day, Jabina took the girl to Mubina Begum’s house in Pulianthope who in turn handed her over to Nissa in Puraisawalkam. Nissa, who was in flesh trade, sent five men who raped the victim,” said the police and added that the three women shared the money they received from the men.
The girl’s mother lodged a complaint at the Pulianthope station on July 3, three days after she went missing. The girl, who returned home onMonday night, revealed to her mother that she was locked up in a room in Vyasarpadi by three women and was abused by the men.
