2 killed as van collides with lorry on ECR

The deceased were identified as Balaji (28) and Iyyanarappan (20), both from Suriyakuppam village near ECR. A private van, carrying 15 employees of a private factory, was on its way to Koovathur. Near Vepanchery village, it collided head-on with a lorry, laden with chemicals, that was coming from Puducherry. In the impact, all the people inside the van suffered injuries. While the lorry driver managed to escape from the spot, the Koovathur police arrived at the spot and admitted the injured persons to the Chengalpattu GH where Balaji and Iyyanarappan were declared dead on arrival. The Koovathur police have registered a case and searching for the lorry diver.
