Lakes and ponds should be cleaned on a wartime basis: Rajnikanth

Actor turned politician Rajnikanth has urged the Tamil Nadu Government to clean up the water resources in the city, soon on a wartime basis, to save the rainwater.

While addressing the press, in Airport, Rajinikanth said, “I heartily congratulate my fans for providing water to cater the water needs of the people . I appreciate this very good action by the fans. We have been doing such activities for a really long time, but only now it has begun to gain attention.” 

He also added, “Rainwater harvesting should be done to solve the drinking water problem in TN. For this, the lakes and ponds should be cleaned immediately. The Government needs to do everything that is possible to save the rainwater during the forthcoming monsoon season, on a wartime basis.” 

Further Rajnikanth said, “The current BJP Government will ensure to implement the rivers inter link project.”
