The arrested persons were identified as Ramesh (22) and Sathish (21) from Chromepet, and Sai Kumar (27) from Pallavaram.

On Tuesday early morning, a police team from Adambakkam was involved in vehicle check on the GST Road. They stopped a car coming from Tindivanam for inspection, and found three youngsters inside. On suspicion, they asked the driver to open the boot of the car. Police found nine goats with their limbs and mouths tied up.

Two of the youth escaped from the spot by then, but the police managed to catch the driver, Sai Kumar.

After preliminary inquiry, police said the youth were supplying the meat through online. The Adambakkam police have arrested Sai Kumar and searching for the two others who are absconding.

In the second incident, residents of Maduranthagam and Acharapakkam in Kancheepuram had been complaining about mysterious disappearance of their goats from grazing fields at regular intervals.

On Monday, the goat owners let them out in the field to graze and hid themselves on trees to keep a vigil. After a while, they spotted two men on a two-wheeler arriving there and trying to feed a few goats. Suddenly, the men snatched two of the goats, tied their limbs, and tried to escape from the spot on their two-wheeler.

However, the goat owners and other villagers went behind the duo and intercepted the duo after a chase that lasted for two km. The public thrashed both before informing the Anaicut police station. The police who arrived at the spot arrested the two, identified as Ramesh and Sathish. During the inquiry, police also found that the two-wheeler which they used was also stolen.
