Trio snatches phone, public chase, nab 1
The public caught one of a three-member gang which tried to escape after snatching two mobile phones near Chrompet on Thursday night.

The arrested was identified as Lokesh (20) from Selaiyur and the police are searching Saravanan and Suresh who are still at large.
James Prabhakar (48) from Tambaram was waiting to board a bus when the trio on a bike snatched his phone and escaped from the spot. The police said that the same gang snatched a mobile phone from a woman while she was stepping out from a textile shop.
Passers-by gave them a chase and caught Lokesh on the bike. However, Saravanan and Suresh managed to escape. Lokesh was handed over to the Chromepet police station.
