Bike-borne duo robs three men in one hour, arrested
A bike-borne duo who attacked three men in and around Koyambedu and robbed them has been nabbed.

While the accused, S Vignesh alias Bendu Vicky (23) of Maduravoyal and K Deena (18) of Nerkundram, have been remanded in judicial custody, two of the victims — K Elumalai (25) of Nerkundram and K Saravanan (19) of Maduravoyal — are undergoing treatment at different hospitals.
The gang carried out the robberies in one hour from 9 pm to 10 pm on Tuesday night. They first attacked Saravanan near MRS school when he was returning home after visiting a friend. “One of them caught hold of him, while the other attacked him with a knife and snatched his wallet and mobile phone,” the police said.
At the same spot, they also attacked Elumalai, a carpenter, who was talking with a few friends around 9.30 pm. Elumalai was slashed on his left hand and the duo fled the spot. A few minutes later, they intercepted R Palani (28)near Lakhshmi wedding hall at Nerkundram and started attacking him. As he fell on the road, the duo escaped with his two-wheeler.
The police identified their white colour bike used in all three incidents and launched a hunt for them and nabbed the suspects. They were remanded in judicial custody on Thursday.
Meanwhile, constable Baskar and Armed Reserve personnel Rajiv Gandhi attached to the Fort police station secured two men who were found threatening passers-by at knifepoint near Napier bridge on Wednesday night. The accused S Gopinath (21) of Alapakkam and K Akash (21) of Saidapet were remanded in judicial custody on Thursday.
