Accordingly, the university also made it clear that this would be the last chance to clear the exams that would be conducted on humanitarian grounds.
The Syndicate of Anna University had recently resolved to permit students who have exhausted their permit period (as per their respective regulations), to appear for the examinations again during November-December 2019 and April-May 2020.
The latest notification of the university said that the examination would be conducted in only one centre in every district and venue would be mentioned in the institution’s portal. “The students have been advised to utilise the 2 chances, since this is the final chance provided by the university,” the notification pointed out.
Unlike ordinary semester exams, once the exam centre is selected no change of centre would be allowed. The time table for the special arrear examinations would be published in the last week of September 2019.
A senior administration staff from the AU said a number of students have failed to utilize earlier chances.“The last chance was given after number of representations made by students seeking permission to provide them an opportunity to write their arrear examination,” he said.
He pointed out that though the duration of all UG engineering courses is four years, students with arrears should clear it within three years after completing the course. “Over 30,000 from various batches have not completed the course in thestipulated time,” headded.
