Vishal appears before crime branch
South Indian Artistes Association president actor Vishal Krishna submitted evidence against the former office-bearers of the association before the Kancheepuram district crime branch police on Tuesday to substantiate the allegation that they had misappropriated the association’s properties.
Chennai
Vishal, who came along with his advocate, submitted the evidence to the crime branch police officers. He went in to meet the officers at noon and emerged only at 3 pm.
The allegation is that a 28-cent land in Vengadamangalam near Vandalur that the association had bought was sold off for a low price by former president Radha Ravi and other office-bearers in 2006. Sources said the crime branch police had asked Radha Ravi and others to submit evidence last month but they are yet to do it.
When interacting with the media after meeting the officers, Vishal said that the association’s new building would be inaugurated by the end of the year. He claimed that Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan had not lent their support to anyone for the forthcoming association election as claimed by some contestants, and asked the public not to believe the rumours in this regard.Â
