Teen injured after falling from flyover
An 18-year-old boy fell off a flyover after the bike on which he was riding pillion brushed against the parapet. The victim, Sai Santhosh, has been admitted to a private hospital in Porur with severe head injuries.

His father, Chandrasekar, who rode the bike also suffered injuries. The incident happened around 2.30 pm on Chenari Kuppam bridge when the father-son duo from Otteri was on their way to Poonamallee.
“A lorry running parallel to them came close to the bike and Chandrasekar came further on the left to avoid being hit by the lorry. As the bike came too close to the railing, Chandrasekar lost control over the vehicle. Sai Santhosh, who was riding pillion, was thrown off the flyover and he fell on the service road,” said police.
Police said that as no vehicle was crossing the service lane at the time of the accident, Sai Santhosh escaped. “Chandrasekar works in a private bulb company and Sai has completed Class 12 and was set to join a college.
The accident brought traffic on the stretch to a halt for 45 minutes.
