Phone robber held in Vyasarpadi
A 26-year-old man, who robbed a person at knifepoint, was arrested in Vyasarpadi. R Ramesh (33) of Kalyanapuram, a private firm employee, was at his house when an inebriated man knocked on his door and initiated a conversation on the pretext of enquiring whereabouts of the neighbour.

Suddenly, he took out a knife and snatched Ramesh’s mobile phone. However, when he tried to flee, residents secured the snatcher, P Dinesh of Pulianthope, and handed him over to Vyasarpadi police. In another incident, Tiruvanmiyur police arrested a man, who stole a mobile phone from an MTC commuter. The accused, S Saravanan (23) of Korukkupet, was secured by public when he tried to flee after stealing the mobile phone from S Dinesh (22) of Saidapet in an MTC bus (route 570) bound for Parry’s Corner.
