Burglars make omelette before leaving with loot
Unidentified intruders broke into a house in Venpakkam near Chengalpattu in Kancheepuram district took away 25 sovereigns of gold, a 40-inch television and Rs 10,000 in cash. The burglars, who were in no hurry to leave, cooked and ate omelette inside the house. They also took away Digital Video Recording equipment linked to the CCTV, police said.

The incident happened at the house of Vasudevan (45), who went to Tindivanam with his family, to attend a marriage of a relative on Thursday. When they returned on Sunday morning, they found that miscreants had broken into their house. After inspecting the crime scene, the police said that the burglary took place at least two days ago and added that the criminals spent more time in the kitchen. They made omelette and ate with bread, said the police.
“After stealing the valuables, they have spent some time inside the house. Apart from eating dinner in the house, they also drank the soft drinks kept inside the refrigerator and left its door open,” the police added. After checking the kitchen utensils, the policenoted that the crime happened at least couple of days ago.
To make sure thatthey are not caught easily, the intruders also took away the DVR from the house. After information, the Kancheepuram Superintendent of Police Santhosh Hadimani visited the crime scene. He suggested that house owners, if possible, should save the CCTV recording in a server than in hard disk.
