Unable to change gender, youth kills self
A 21-year-old man committed suicide after his parents allegedly opposed him changing his gender.

The deceased, M Parthasarathy, a BCA graduate, recently started wearing women’s clothes and his parents did not approve of this. When he expressed his desire to undergo a surgery to change his gender, an argument erupted between him and his parents

Following this, parthasarathy went missing four days ago and his father Mahendran, a welder by profession, searched for him and found out that Parthasarathy had been staying with an elderly woman in Manali.
Out of fear that parents would come in search of him, Parthasarathy committed suicide by hanging in the house on Friday. His body was sent to Stanley Government Hospital for post-mortem examination.
The Manali police have registered a case and further investigation is on. The police said that Parthasarathy met the woman when he went to a temple in the locality and narrated his plight to her. She came forward to accommodate him in her house.
Girl commits suicide over poor exam result
A 16-year-old girl committed suicide in Velachery after she scored low marks in Class 11 exams. The deceased, Rajapriya, was from Ambattur and was staying at her aunt’s house in Velachery for summer vacation. She did not tell her marks to her parents as it was lower than what she expected. When her parents informed her that they would come to pick her up from aunt’s place on Saturday, she committed suicide by hanging on Friday night. On information, the Guindy police sent the body to Royapettah GH for post-mortem examination. Further inquiry is on.
