Police identified the deceased as Vinod Kumar who travelled in a lorry to Chennai along with his brother-in-law Dayalan.
They had come to collect a consignment from Madhavaram. When they were on the Puzhal-Perungalathur bypass road, they stopped near Kallikuppam toll plaza around 4 am to rest. While Dayalan was sleeping inside the vehicle, Vinod Kumar slept on the roadside where he was run over. Poonamallee traffic investigation police have registered a case.
