Man gets 5-year jail for sexual assault on minors
Nearly three years after a 30-year-old man was arrested for sexually assaulting three girls in Egmore, he was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment by the Mahila Court on Monday.

C Vijay (30) of Egmore was arrested under Pocso Act in October 2016 after he sexually harassed three minor girls aged 6, 7 and 8 on the pretext of inviting them to play at his house.
Egmore all-women police arrested him based on a complaint by the girls’ parents.
The trial of the case culminated on Monday and the Magistrate convicted Vijay of the crime.
He was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment along with a penalty of Rs 21,000.
