16 sovereigns burgled from house in Mylapore

On Sunday evening, B Udayakumari (49) of Nochikuppam, who runs a shop on Marina beach, left for work while her husband Balan was sleeping in the second floor of the house.

Around 10pm, he woke up to noises and found a man trying to break open the cupboard. After Balan failed to catch hold of him, he went to the first floor and found valuables stolen. The Mylapore police collected fingerprints. Based on a complaint from Udayakumari, a case has been registered and a hunt has been launched.
