Youth found dead in Sriperumbudur

The youth, identified as Porselvan Ellayappan residing at Raja Street in Oragadam, had left home on Saturday night. Police said he was strangulated to death, and a piece of cloth was found near the body. “As there was no response to calls to his phone, the family members started looking for him. Later, his body was found near a paddy field in Chennikuppam,” police said.

The Oragadam police shifted the body to Sriperumbudur GH for autopsy. “It is not yet clear who murdered him,” said police sources, adding that they were trying to find out details of his friends. “We need to find out who was with the deceased from Saturday morning. It is possible that he had some enmity with someone in the neighbourhood,” officials said, adding that his phone details were being scrutinised.
