Girl fails Class 10 twice, kills self
A 17-year-old girl committed suicide after failing in Class 10 exams for the second consecutive time in Peravallur. The deceased, K Keerthika (17) of GKM Colony, was a student of a private school in Perambur.

She had failed in four subjects in Class 10 board exams last year. After appearing for the exams again this year, she could not pass in all the exams. Dejected over it, Keerthika hanged herself in her room on Saturday night. When she did not come out of her room for long, her parents Kabaleeshwaran and Thamizhendhi and brothers Guna and Poovarasan broke open the door and found her body.
The body was sent to Kilpauk Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination. The police said that she had applied to reappear for the exam, but took the extreme step before that. The peravallur police have registered a case.
