2-year-old falls from balcony, severely injured
A two-year-old boy has been critically injured and admitted to the Institute of Child Health, Egmore after he fell from the first floor of a building in Choolaimedu.

The incident happened around 8.30 pm on Saturday when Mohammed Naseer was playing in the balcony of the house. The police said that the child’s mother Banu was with him when he slipped and fell from the first floor.
With severe injuries on the head, he was rushed to ICH in Egmore and was referred to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital (RGGGH). Later, he was transferred back to ICH, where he is undergoing treatment.
The child’s father Moideen, who is a call taxi driver, said that the child is recovering well.
The Choolaimedu police have registered a case and are investigating how the child fell despite the building having railing in the balcony.
