A 34-year-old man was robbed of cash and mobile phone by unidentified men on Monday night.

The police said that Ashok (32), a resident of Annai Teresa Nagar in Velachery, was working in a private company. “On Monday night, he was walking from Perungudi railway station when three men in an autorickshaw blocked his way and held a knife to his throat,” a police officer said. The gang sped away with Rs 5,000 and Rs 28,000 worth mobile phone.
