Youth held with LSD stamps, hashish, tabs

The narcotics sleuths made the arrest near a swimming academy in Mogappair East, sources said. He was arrested under sections of Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.

Investigators claimed that he was a small-time distributor of narcotics substances, including party drugs, in the city. “He is a first-time offender. He has been procuring the substance from Goa and trying to sell it locally. He had studied BBA in a private college. That is when he started using narcotics and got addicted. He was trying to generate money by selling drugs so he can also continue to buy it for his personal use,” noted NIBDSP Purushothman.

Officers from the bureau have seized five LSD stamps weighing 0.510 mgs, 23 MDMA tablets weighing 12.360 gm and 4.830 gm hashish. The value of the drug is estimated to be around Rs 3.75 lakh, official sources said. A two-wheeler was also seized from the suspect,police added.
