College girl files abuse plaint against grandmother

The Police said that D Vani Shree (19) of Kilpauk, a BSc student, returned home from college on Friday when her grandmother insisted that she cleans the house. As she refused, the elderly woman Thanammal (65) abused and yelled at Vani Shree. Vani Shree complained about the incident to her mother Mahalakshmi aftershe returned from work.

A squabble ensued and Thanammal and their relative Raj, who reached the spot on information, allegedly attacked Vani Shree for creating rift between Thanammal and Mahalakshmi. In the attack, Vani Shree suffered injury on her nose and was admitted to the Kilpauk Medical College (KMC) hospital for treatment.

Based on her complaint, T P Chathiram police have registered a case and further inquiry is on.
