Woman’s lover, friend held for molesting her daughter
A three-and-a-half-year-old girl child was sexually abused by two men in the presence of the hapless girl’s mother. Though the woman claimed that she was assaulted by the duo before molesting the child, Tiruvallur police arrested all three persons, including the mother, under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act on Saturday.

Police said that the woman, a native of Andhra Pradesh, was married to a man from a village in Tiruvallur district for five years. But the couple used to fight often, following which the woman would to go to her native in Andhra Pradesh along with the child and return after some days.
But on March 14, she had left the house without informing her husband. Two days later, the man lodged a missing complaint at the local police station. The police contacted the woman’s parents, who said that she did not come there. A few days later, the woman returned home along with the child.
Since there were injuries on the child’s body, her father admitted her to Stanley Medical College Hospital. The doctors during examination found out that the child was sexually abused and alerted police.
Based on a complaint by the girl’s father, Tiruvallur police inquired the woman. During interrogation, she revealed that she reportedly developed a relationship with one of her relatives and through him also befriended another person identified as Siva (32) of Andhra Pradesh. After the fight with her husband, she went to meet the duo. During her stay with them for about 10 days in Andhra Pradesh, the two men allegedly sexually abused her child and even assaulted her with an iron rod and wooden logs. A case has been registered under four different sections of Pocso Act against all three persons, who were remanded in judicial custody.
